I've been wanting to start a blog to share my ideas for a long time now, but I was employed full time until just last week. So here I am. Finally getting to do it! I am a mom to 3 sweet girls (my three little birds), ages 9, 5, and 3 (going on 33). I recently entered the stay at home mom workforce. I'm excited and terrified! But mostly excited. Priceless moment number 1: Yesterday when my littlest asked me to play Lincoln Logs with her, I sat down for an hour and played without any guilt, any distractions, any sense of I have to get that done today or the entire week will be extra hectic. It was awesome and I'm so thankful my hardworking husband makes it possible.

Let me tell you the story of three little birds. When our 2nd child was less than a year old we found out I was pregnant with number 3. I still don't know how that happened...well I know HOW it happened, but HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? Number 2 was never a good sleeper and still spent a good portion of most nights in our bed. As a result, we were exhausted and barely making it through the day as it was.
Enter number 3. She arrived and, I can't lie, it was as hard as I thought it would be...that's the thing about number 3, you know the reality of the newborn phase (and the toddler phase, and the terrible 3's and maybe even the tween angst...). But we were surviving thanks to really supportive friends and family. During my maternity leave Nick Jr. was on in our house (A LOT...don't judge). They would play the Bob Marley song, Three Little Birds, every day. If you don't know which song I'm talking about, some of the lyrics are, "Don't worry, 'bout a thing. 'Cause every little thing, is gonna be all right." Now you know the song I'm talking about, right? One day as I looked down at that newborn baby bird squawking at me for milk, and that song played on Nick Jr, I realized that every little thing WAS going to be all right. And it became my theme song.
As I took the leap of faith of quitting my good paying job, with excellent benefits after 15 years, I told people around me that it was true. Everything does always seem to work out fine. One way or another. So here I am, finding my way, my routine, finding myself. Finding every free story time in town because, OMGosh, this kid and I can't be together 24/7. (Just being honest).
So anyway, welcome to my blog. I hope to share all kinds of fun ideas here. So I'll see you tomorrow? :)
Mandy
