Meet our newest family member, Oliver. He is an 11 month old Morkie...which is one of those "designer" breeds - a mix of Yorkie and Maltese. How cute it he?!!! A really nice family needed to re-home him because they were away from home 9+ hours a day or more a day and couldn't give him enough time and attention. My girls and their friends have given him so much attention that he has been taking advantage of hiding places in the house, and sleeps like a rock at night.

Of course I took to Pinterest to find some natural ways to care for him. In SC fleas pretty much live year round, so I wanted to find a spray to prevent fleas. This one looks good, and Oliver is going to smell amazing for his girl friends, Kate an Pippa (the puppies across the street).

Flea spray

Ingredients:

-1 cup white distilled vinegar OR 1 cup apple cider vinegar OR a 50/50 blend of both -1 quart fresh water -2-3 drops of lavender or cedar oil -a decent sized spray bottle

Directions

The essential oil isn’t vital, but it certainly gives the spray an extra edge (and a nice smell.) If you’re using it, add 2-3 drops as you add 1 cup of white distilled vinegar/apple cider vinegar/both to 1 quart of fresh water. Fill your spray bottle, and mist your dog, being careful not to get it in their eyes, nose, or ears-aka avoid spraying near the face. To get up around the neck and behind the ears/their chin area, dampen a soft cloth with the mixture and wipe it on. Spray your pets bedding and around it with this mixture lightly as well.

See y'all soon!
