It. Is. Cold! Like 27 degrees...for the coast of SC, that is really cold. So today we play inside. My littlest bird and I made play dough today. Double the fun - she helped me mix it up and chose the colors and scents, and then we played with the finished product. She chose lime scented green, rose scented purple, and lavender scented blue. She got up at the crack of dawn today, so here's hoping the lavender inspires a nap!

Homemade Play Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/4 cup salt

  • 3/4 cup boiling water

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 tsp cream of tartar

Optional Ingredients:

You could knead this by hand, but if you have a kitchen aid mixer the easiest way is to throw all of the ingredients together and mix it using the dough hook. Add your food coloring and essential oils along with the other ingredients if you want to make the dough smell and look pretty. That's it! This turns out no fool soft dough that is really fun to play with!

Stay warm!
