As I've mentioned before, I love making natural products; however, there are some products that I just am not willing to give up. And one of those was my automatic dishwasher pods. Until now.

I coupon and I stockpile, and I almost always have at least one extra box of dishwashing pods around, but the other day I ran out. So I hit pinterest and found a recipe that I could make with what I already had on hand: Baking soda, Borax, and Citric acid. IT WORKED GREAT! What?!

The recipe is super simple.

  • 2 cups of baking soda (That's my giant bag from Costco, about $5 for the bag)

  • 2 cups Borax (You can buy it with the laundry products)

  • 1/2 cup of citric acid

Mix them all together in a container and use 2 tablespoons per load of dishes, You could also add essential oils for extra cleaning power, or just a nice scent. Lemon would be great.

Cheap, easy, works great, natural. You’re welcome :)
